Safety in Design

It is cheaper and safer to remove a hazard on the drawing board than to guard against it on the shop floor. We build safety into the design from the first sketch.

How we help

  • Working to the Australian Standards that apply to your product
  • Support for product certification
  • Finite element analysis (FEA) where a calculation is not enough
  • Guarding, access, maintenance and isolation considered in the design

Safety in Design means thinking about how a machine will be built, used, cleaned, maintained and finally removed, and designing out the hazards at each stage. The earlier it is done, the less it costs.

Safety-critical designs, certification and compliance decisions need a qualified engineer or certifier to check and sign off. We work with you to make sure the drawings and design records they need are clear and complete.
