Terms and Conditions

1. About these terms

The Trustee for The R's Property Trust No. 1 (ABN 80 523 122 501), trading as Drafting Central, provides mechanical engineering drafting, design and related services from Burleigh Waters, Queensland. When you request a quote, upload files or approve a drawing, you agree to these terms.

2. How we charge

Our work is charged by the hour, unless we have given you a quoted price for the job. Prices are in Australian dollars. GST is added and shown as a separate line on your invoice. Quotes are valid for 30 days. If the scope of a quoted job changes we will tell you and re-quote before carrying on.

3. How payment works

  • When we invoice: for most jobs we send your invoice when you approve your drawing.
  • Large quoted jobs: a 50% deposit is paid before we start. The balance is invoiced when you approve the drawing.
  • GST: GST is added to our prices and shown as its own line on the invoice.
  • Due date: invoices are payable within 7 days.
  • Payment methods: you can pay your invoice online by credit or debit card (including Visa, Mastercard and American Express), with PayPal, or by direct deposit (bank transfer) straight into our bank account, which has no fees – our bank details are on your invoice. Card payments are processed securely by Stripe and PayPal payments by PayPal, so we never see or store your card details. We do not add a surcharge for any payment method.
  • Customers outside Australia: prices are in Australian dollars. GST is added only where it applies. Any bank, card or PayPal fees charged to you by your own bank or card provider are yours to pay.
  • Approval and downloads: we put your drawing in your private online portal. You check it, then approve it. Before you approve, you can view your drawing in your browser but not download it. Once you approve, you can download your approved PDF drawing. Approving does not change the invoice or its due date. Native CAD files are kept on our record and are not part of the download unless we agree otherwise in writing.
  • Unpaid invoices: if an invoice is not paid within 7 days, downloading your drawing is switched off until it is paid (you can still view it in your portal), unless we have agreed longer payment terms with you.
  • Questions about an invoice: please tell us as soon as you can, so we can sort it out quickly.

4. Checking and approving drawings

Please check the whole drawing carefully – dimensions, units, materials, notes and quantities. You can mark it up on screen and send corrections, or approve it. We keep a record of each approval (date, time, your account and the device used). Once you approve a drawing we treat it as final. You are responsible for the accuracy of the information you give us and for what you approve.

5. Corrections and later changes

  • Fixing our own mistakes before you approve is part of the job and is not charged.
  • After you approve a drawing, quick changes that take us less than 10 minutes are free. Larger changes, and changes because the brief or your information changed, are charged at our standard hourly rate. We confirm the estimate with you before we start.

6. Ownership and our drawing register

Drafting Central owns the drawings, models and files we produce unless we agree otherwise in writing. Once a job is paid, you may use the PDF drawings we supply for the project they were made for. We keep drawings and job records permanently in our drawing register.

7. Your files and confidentiality

Files you send are stored privately. Only you and Drafting Central can open them, and we do not share them except where needed to do the job. NDAs are available on request. You confirm you have the right to send us the files you upload.

8. What our drawings are (and are not)

We prepare drawings and designs from the information and brief you supply. Unless we agree in writing, they are not a structural, statutory or regulatory certification. You remain responsible for checking that the finished product is fit for its purpose and meets the standards and laws that apply to it.

9. Liability

To the extent the law allows, our liability for any job is limited to re-doing the work or refunding the fee for that job. Nothing in these terms excludes or limits your rights under the Australian Consumer Law.

10. Cancelling a job

You can cancel at any time. You pay for the work done up to that point.

11. Privacy

How we handle your personal information is explained in our Privacy Policy.

12. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of Queensland, Australia.
