A point cloud is a very large set of measured points on the surface of an object. It is useful for checking fit, planning changes to existing equipment and recreating parts with no drawing. We turn the scan into the drawings and models that people can actually work from.
For simple parts, careful measurement and photographs can be enough and cost less. We will tell you which approach suits the job.
